Home care is the most essential part of maintaining a healthy beautiful smile. You only visit our office about two times a year, but you spend the rest of the 363 days of the year maintaining everything you learn from our helpful staff. This care can be best accomplished with four simple goals: proper nutrition, tooth brushing, flossing, and rinsing.
Proper nutrition is achieved by eating balanced meals with few snacks throughout the day and avoiding a high sugar intake. Drinking water is best, but when you drink something sweet or acidic try to only consume it during meals and do not sip on the beverage throughout an extended period of time. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day with an ADA approved soft bristle toothbrush and fluorinated toothpaste is recommended. You should brush your teeth after breakfast in the morning and just before bed at night. We recommend flossing at least once daily to clean the areas between teeth and under the gum line.
